The Navy Vets won their semifinal series against the Merchants after celebrating a 10-5 victory in Game 6.
PJHL - It's official, the Tavistock Braves will face off against the Woodstock Navy Vets in the Doherty Division final.
This comes after the Navy Vets celebrated a 10-5 victory over the Norwich Merchants in Game 6 of their semifinal series at Nor-Del Arena last night.
Owen Ireton and Kyle Arthur both scored hattricks for Woodstock. Carson Littlejohn came close with two goals, while Connor Stanley and Cooper Vickerman both scored one goal each.
Brandon Balazs scored twice for the Merchants, while Nathan Murphy, Cale Arvai and Tyler McDole scored the other goals for Norwich.
Woodstock scored four times in the first period and added another two within the first minute of the second period to take a 6-0 lead. Norwich tried to bounce back by three goals in about 90 seconds, but Woodstock scored another two to bring the score to 8-3. Woodstock scored the first goal of the third period and Norwich responded to with two more, before Woodstock recorded the final goal of the game with about four minutes remaining.
Tensions were high during the third period, with the Merchants receiving 60 minutes in penalties and the Vets taking 31 minutes in penalties.
Game 1 of the championship series will takeover Southwood Arena this Friday evening with a 7:45 p.m. puck drop. The dates and times for the other games in the championship series have yet to be released.
