Hunter Weston passed away at four-years-old yesterday afternoon. He bravely battled cancer for 14 months and his story has touched people living in Oxford County and beyond.
OXFORD COUNTY - Family members, friends and complete strangers are mourning the loss of Hunter Weston today.
He passed away Wednesday afternoon at the age of four-years-old. His mother Sarah Christine Brown and father Jayy Weston made the announcement on Facebook.
His family did everything possible to save Hunter's life after he was diagnosed with cancer last year. Hunter was first diagnosed with Neuroblastoma on March 26th of last year, on his mothers birthday of all days. Since then he has undergone 11 rounds of chemo and countless surgeries to try and put a halt to his cancer. Hunter started immunotherapy in March 2021 and finished two rounds of treatment by the beginning of April 2021.
Nothing worked and the family was sad to announce his passing on Wednesday. People can show their support by painting the town gold for Hunter. A Facebook group has started encouraging people to decorate their homes in gold as a show of support.
You can also help the family out by purchasing tickets to a fundraiser hosted by Ridgeline Operations. You can find a link to that fundraiser online here.
