Handcrafted Routes is set to launch in September, 2026.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County is launching a new experience to showcase its local handcrafted arts!
Handcrafted Routes is set to launch in September. It will be similar to the Oxford County Cheese Trail but will be designed to focus on the local handcrafted arts the County has to offer.
Tourism Manager Meredith Maywood says they're looking for local artists in the community.
"If you're a local artist and you are working with your local arts co-operative, or your items are for sale at a location, those are opportunities that might be available."
The arts they are looking for are items created by hand or with the help of tools. This includes pottery, woodworking, metalwork, sewing, fibre arts, soapmaking, restoration, stonework, paper arts, culinary arts, floral design, and visual arts.
Maywood says anyone can get involved in the process.
"Now, we are reaching out to get feedback from people in the community that might be involved in the handcrafted arts, to sign up, to learn more about the program, and to provide us with feedback while we develop it."
Those interested in the experience can learn more online here and sign up to a email list that will keep individuals informed.
