Oxford County Animal Rescues Ride for the Rescue is returning, stopping along Port Burwell, Port Rowan, and Norwich.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Animal Rescue's fundraising campaign is in full swing.
The annual Ride for the Rescue will take place this Sunday, taking people through Oxford County and raising money for the shelter.
Director, Anna Holmes says spots are still available.
"They can still register. Sunday morning at 9:00 at the Woodstock Legion here in Woodstock on Dundas Street is where we leave from. So, registration starts at 9 and riders head out on the ride at 10:00."
Holmes mentions that you can email her at anna@oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com to receive a registration form, or you can stop by the Rescue during business hours and sign up in person. The price to participate is $20 if you are a single rider or $25 if you have a passenger. She says that the event is also a poker run with prizes to be won.
"So at every stop, they get a card to add to their poker hand. At the end of the ride, we determine who has the best poker hand, and of course who has... not the best poker hand."
Holmes says the ride will visit Port Burwell, along the lake to Port Rowan, then to Norwich, and end back in Woodstock.
