The Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association (OCCA) will be hosting the Oxford CaribCan festival at Unifor Hall in Woodstock this Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - The Caribbean is coming to Oxford in the CaribCan Festival in Woodstock.
The festival will have many forms of food, music, and entertainment from all islands of the Caribbean.
The Oxford Caribbean Canadian Association's Suzanne Phillips says the evening will also include Tassa drumming.
"Tassa Drumming is a style of drumming that disseminated from the Middle East down to Northern India and then came over with our Indo-Caribbean population. It's really, really popular in the southern regions of Trinidad and Tobago and in Giana."
Local vendors will also be in attendance.
The festival will be taking place on Friday, June 30th at the Unifor Hall in Woodstock, 126 Beale Street from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Phillips stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday June 27th and you can listen to the full interview below:
