PARIS - The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will officially get underway today.
The opening ceremony will be taking place at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time today and it's expected to last more than three hours.
It's going to be a one-of-a-kind event, with representatives from over 200 countries entering the games on boats along the River Seine. Officials say there will be close to 100 boats, carrying an estimated 10,500 athletes.
Sprint star Andre De Grasse and weightlifter Maude Charron will be the official flag bearers for Team Canada.
