People in Oxford County can now call one phone number to access all of their community support services.
INGERSOLL - CSS Oxford launched a central intake number that will cover multiple support services across Oxford County.
They hosted a public launch today on their central intake number, highlighting some of the services at the Services for Seniors in Ingersoll.
Robin Kish is a representative of VON Oxford and she says the number is easier and convenient to access.
"Accessing the number is easy, it's quick, it's friendly and we're there to help and support them and provide lots of information."
Kish adds people can get in touch with over seven agencies and over 45 services by simply calling the number. Some of the services include Meals On Wheels, transportation and adult day programs.
By dialling one phone number, she says it eliminates the challenge of having to navigate through different providers.
"Sometimes it's difficult for people to know how to navigate the system and they might have to call provider after provider, so with the central intake (number) they can call one number and access a variety of services at ease."
VON Oxford is the lead agency of the central intake number and Alzheimers Oxford and Tillsonburg are among the agencies who have partnered with them.
The central intake number is 1-888-866-7518 and it will be available in several communities across Oxford County.
