The injuries were described as serious, but non-life threatening.
UPDATE (11:57 a.m.) - Police have charged a 40-year-old man from London in relation to this incident.
He faces a list of charges including dangerous operation causing bodily harm, flight from police, resisting arrest, assault with the intent to resist arrest, identity fraud with the intent to avoid arrest, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

ST. THOMAS - An investigation is underway after an Elgin OPP officer was hit by a vehicle in St. Thomas.
Police say it happened on Highway 3, between Centennial Ave and First Ave, at around 10:45 a.m. yesterday, after the officer pulled over a vehicle.
Sergeant Ed Sanchuk shared the details in a video posted on the OPP West Region X page.
"During that stop, the driver of that vehicle fled from the area, ultimately striking the OPP officer. That officer was transported by paramedics to hospital to be treated for those injuries and the driver of that vehicle was later located a residence and taken into custody without incident."
The injuries were serious but non-life threatening and the OPP would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident. Officers would also like to speak with anyone who may have dash cam or surveillance footage of the area around that time.
