Programming is set to resume at the Ontario Early Years Centre on Monday, June 4th. And to kick off the new beginning, the Oxford Community Child Care are hosting an Open House at the centre this Friday. O.C.C.C. are now the lead agency of the program in the county. O.E.Y.C. staff member, Wilma Molinaro says this will allow the public to see some of the changes they have made, meet the staff who will operate the centre and sign up for the programs. She says "the program will be very similar to what was offered before. We are pointing our curriculum towards the elect curriculum which is the early learning every child today curriculum that the Ministry is prompting that all early years centres and school programs and daycare programs, we're all currently investigating that curriculum and implementing it into our programs". Molinaro says there are some new features that will be added including a "getting ready for school" program, as well as an Ontario Literacy Specialist will hold story times in the parks. Both programs will run during the summer months. The Open house will run Friday June 1st from 10am-2pm at 21 Market Street in Woodstock at the centre.
