Fran Bell will serve her last day as the CAO/Clerk of Blandford-Blenheim this Friday
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - The Township of Blandford-Blenheim will have a familiar face back in their office next week.
Princeton resident and former councillor Roger Mordue will assume the position of CAO/Clerk as Fran Bell heads into retirement.
Bell highlights that his past experience with the Township's council and 25 years of work in municipal government will be asset for the municipality. "He was a councillor here for 14 years, he lives in Princeton, he's been a CAO 7 or 8 years in the Township of North-Dumfries. He's very familiar with the community and I think he's going to do an excellent job."
Mordue will join the team Monday February 2nd.
Bell says in her four years with the Township, she has experienced a number of positive and rewarding changes.
She further stated that she has thoroughly enjoyed her time in the community. "The people here are absolutely lovely. It's a wonderful community to work in and I'm sure that they enjoy tremendously living here. It's an active community, it's a community that cares, cares for each other, cares for what's going on and it's just been an absolute pleasure to be here."
As for retirement, Bell says "I love doing a lot of volunteer work and I love to travel so, I might even get a chance to combine the two."
In a release from Mayor Marion Wearn, she says "We will be well served by Roger's experience and knowledge both in municipal government and within the Township of Blandford-Blenheim. We welcome him to our leadership team."
