Veteran Stephen Molnar returns to reprise role as Tillsonburg Mayor. Molnar filed his papers for the mayor position.
TILLSONBURG- Former Mayor and past councillor, Stephen Molnar is back on the ballot.
Molnar, who served 13 years on council as both a councillor and two-time elected mayor, feels his past experience would be an asset for the next term. "Proud of the legacy that we created and community development, the economics of our community that proved sustainable through my last tenure as Mayor -- and I look forward to working with all the stakeholders in Tillsonburg and our surrounding area to ensure that Tillsonburg, once again is a great place and an option for people to live, play, invest and to retire in."
The lifelong Tillsonburg resident says he wants to bring open and transparent opportunities for the public to be involved in the decision making processes for the town. "Just look at history, how we reached out to members of the public, volunteer groups, individual and collective stakeholders in our municipality and our greater region, to facilitate discussion, to listen to people, to create the opportunity for positive debate in an open forum, to get educated, to do due diligence on issues and turn those issues into positive opportunity for all our citizens."
Molnar, who has a long list of community groups and boards he has been involved with, says it's time to utilize his past experiences and knowledge gained from being out in the community for the benefit of our entire municipality.
"We've got to work with partners while understanding that Tillsonburg needs to get back to a place where we're identified as a unique, successful and a benchmark community - a community for others to look up to and that ultimately leads us to the place where it's an attractive place to invest, to create jobs which are the impetus for all the things that we do."
