Miracle Treat Day Arrives in Oxford

The Dairy Queen locations in Woodstock and Tillsonburg will support the London Children's Hospital.

OXFORD COUNTY - You can enjoy some delicious ice cream and support a great cause at the same time.

It's Miracle Treat Day, so Dairy Queen will be donating the proceeds from all Blizzard sales to children's hospitals. The locations in Woodstock and Tillsonburg will be supporting the London Children's Hospital today.

Tarnya Petch is the mother of 11-year-old Nolan Petch, who serves as a child ambassador for the hospital.

"He spent the first couple of weeks of his life in the children's hospital so we got to experience that. When Nolan was about six his cousin Hunter (Weston) was diagnosed with cancer, so we started volunteering and doing fundraisers for the children's hospital because they were essentially the only support my sister had because it was during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Tarnya and Nolan started out as Miracle Mission agents, where they collected donations for the hospital. Nolan became a child ambassador from there, so he gets to share his story and Hunters story with others. Nolan will be helping out at the Woodstock Dairy Queen this afternoon, so make sure you say hi if you see him.

If you're unable to make it to a Dairy Queen today, Tarnya says you can still support the cause.

"You can go to the Children's Health Foundation website and under Events you can click on Miracle Treats and you can actually purchase Blizzard coupons."

You can click here for a direct link to the coupons.

Tarnya Petch called the Heart FM studio to chat with Marcie and Xander on Wednesday August 13th. You can listen to the full interview below:
