Speculation, innuendo, and rumours. That's what London's Mayor Joe Fontana is calling the allegation that he used federal tax dollars to pay for his son?s wedding reception seven years ago. The London Free Press obtained documentation showing more than $20,000 came from Public Works Canada. Those are just the documents that Fontana says he wants to look over before saying anything. Fontana has vowed ?to get to the bottom of this? but told reporters he wouldn't provide a full response until he locates documents about the reception. His fellow council members are urging him to deny it, although he hasn't as of yet. Other councillors are hinting at being available to take his job if he needs to be replaced. The RCMP have confirmed that the Commons has called in the national agency as investigation is underway. A public statement is expected from the Mayor after he has time to review the documentation.
