A prayer vigil is happening on Thursday night in Embro to honour the victims of the recent shootings in Quebec.
EMBRO - The Knox United Church in Embro is hosting a prayer vigil on Thursday in response to the recent shootings at a mosque in Quebec.
Reverend Andrea Allan tells Heart FM they wanted to provide a positive message in light of all the negative stories happening around the world right now.
"Make some time to bring some hope back into our lives, right now with all the violence across the globe, there is a deep sense of fear and pain and scarcely and shame. Now with what has happened in Quebec with the mosque being attacked, I think before we thought well this is just happening in the States but it is affecting us as well. There is racism underneath so much of our world and this is an opportunity to come together to pray, to sing, to just be together as well and to know that we are not alone."
Allan says they wanted to come together as a community to pray for the victims in the recent attack.
This is an informal gathering for everyone who is concerned with what is happening in our country and the world around us.
It is happening at the church starting at 7 p.m and will only last about 25 minutes.
