Close to 3,700 non-perishable items have been donated by one 12-year-old in Woodstock.

WOODSTOCK - A local student continues to support those in need.

Ryker Freeman, a student at Central Public School, just dropped off a total of 3,698 items, ranging from canned food, soup, toiletries, and emergency hygiene kits. Freeman explains the feeling he has of being able to help.

"The joy is that like there's people on the streets that like I know need to because they don't have like a roof over their head and they don't get to have like hot meals and stuff."

He says the support has been great each year.

"It means like a lot because there's people out there who, like, know that I'm trying to beat my goal to get more for people."

This is the 5th year Ryker has received donations, and his total for the 5 years is 9,180 items. He has a goal next year to try and reach 5-thousand items.
