Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for an inmate who gave officers the slip yesterday morning.
BRANTFORD - An inmate is on the loose after slipping out of police custody.
Yesterday morning around 9:50 a.m. Brantford Police Special Constables were supervising inmate transport. 33 year old David George Goyit of Brantford capitalized on an altercation between officers and another inmate to make a quick getaway on Market Street.
At the time of his escape Goyit's legs were shackled.
He is described as a white man around 5'7", 162 pounds with a brown Mohwak style haircut. He was last seen in a blue hooded sweater (with green lining inside the hood), grey pants, and dark coloured shoes with white soles.
Goyit's original offences are not considered violent - he was arrested near the end of May on an outstanding warrant for charges of Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation stemming from thefts and frauds.
He is now also wanted for escaping lawful custody.
The public is urged to call 911 if you see him. Do not approach.
