WOODSTOCK - Grade 9 students from Huron Park have been cycling around Woodstock this week to learn first hand about some of the County's green initiatives with their Future Oxford Sustainability Plan.
50 kids in the Experiential Learning Outdoor Education Program had a chance to tour the Wastewater Treatment Plant and water tower. Water Treatment Supervisor Paul Eybergen met the students at the Northwest Water tower today.
"The Northwest Water Tower has about 3600 cubic metre's and we are just talking to the kids about the water system around Woodstock and some of the waste water and collecting systems that are associated with that as well."

Public Works treated and supplied 11.8 million cubic meters of drinking water in 2016. County water is sourced from 54 wells then delivered through 17 municipal water systems serving 80,000 people. In addition, the County owns and operates nine wastewater treatment plants, and eleven wastewater collection systems, serving more than 70,000 residents along with local businesses and industries.
