Faithway Baptist Church is bringing back their Love Your Neighbour Campaign this weekend, hoping to connect with the community and simply bring smiles to many faces.
WOODSTOCK - The Love Your Neighbour campaign returns to Woodstock this weekend.
Team Member Keith Graydon says volunteers from Faithway Baptist Church will be doing all kinds of work in the community.
"We can help out in a variety of ways, trim your trees, cut your grass or dig your weeds out, whatever you need that is outdoors that we can do, we are just looking to connect with our community.
They have nine jobs lined up for Saturday morning in Woodstock. Graydon says this project started 5 years ago after he went on a mission trip in Quebec.
"A group from a church there in Quebec and they were doing this exact same thing, they reached out to a lot of non-profits in their community and it has actually grown to about 9 or 10 cities in Quebec. So when I came back to Ontario, the following year, we started it here at Faithway Baptist Church."
Graydon also says the campaign has received a lot of positivity and residents are happy to have the extra help.
"It's usually one or two things. It was, I can't believe your doing this, thank you very much, or it was why are you doing this? Those are basically the two reactions, but people overall are just very thankful."
The initiative was started as part of the church's commitment to helping the community.
