A new GPS system will help the Town of Ingersoll track data for services like snow clearing.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll was one of several municipalities across the province selected for a GPS pilot project.
Ingersoll council voted in favour of implementing the program which is in partnership with Frank Cowan Company and Operasoft software company.
Three in-vehicle tablets and 3 GPS units will be provided and installed on town service vehicles.
Ingersoll Engineer Sandra Lawson explains how the project works, "these units are active units so they record data every 15 seconds, the documentation can be used to defend claims the Town may have."
The new GPS system can be used to help the Town track data for services such as snow clearing.
