A combination of snow and ice pellets overnight laid a foundation for potentially dangerous roads this morning.
UPDATE 7:37 a.m: Environment Canada has lifted the Freezing Rain warning, however roads may still be slick and buses are still cancelled.
OXFORD / BRANT - A special weather statement has been issued bringing warnings of freezing rain this morning for all of Oxford County and Brant County.
Overnight flurries mixed with ice pellets brought up to 5 cm of accumulation in some areas.
The freezing rain may last several hours before changing over to rain this morning as temperatures rise above the zero degree mark. Expect highways, roads, walkways and parking lots to be very slippery. Drivers should slow down and maintain a safe following distance.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
