Ross Pollock, John Kent, Paul McCutchen, Jim Hird and Wayne Dakin have been recognized for their years of dedication to the Norwich Township Fire Service.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Five firefighters have been honoured in Township Council Chambers.
Fire Chief Paul Groeneveld says they have been recognized for dedicating their lives to protecting others.
"The township relies on these people to commit the time and the effort to provide a service to the community. Many times they are leaving their families behind at other events while they rush out to help people who are in need and that's definitely a key component to providing emergency services in the township of Norwich."
The recipients are as follows;
John Kent - Station Number 2 in Norwich
Federal Exemplary Service for 20 years
Paul McCutcheon - Station Number 4 in Oxford Centre
Provincial Long Service Medal for 25 years
Ross Pollock - District Chief of Station Number 2 in Norwich
Provincial Bar for 30 years
Wayne Dakin - Station Number 4 in Oxford Centre

Jim Hird - Retired from Station Number 4 in Oxford Centre

The awards were handed out at the Norwich Township Council meeting Tuesday night.
