Police are investigating a fatal crash on Catherine Street in Thames Centre.
THAMES CENTRE - One person is dead after a fatal crash on Catherine Street in Thames Centre.
Police say a red Kawaski motorcycle was heading east bound when it collided with an orange Jeep SUV this afternoon. The driver of the bike, a 30 year old man from Thames Centre has died and his name is being withheld until next of kin are notified. The driver of the bike a 45 year old woman from Thames Centre was taken to the hospital to be treated with non life threatening injuries.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collison Investigators are still investigating and Catherine Street is closed between Richmond Street and Shaw Road. The roadway is expected to be closed for some time, and motorists will have to find alternative routes.
The crash occurred in close proximity to two elementary schools. Agencies are cooperating in order to get students to their after-school destinations.
