It's a seemingly endless showcase of farming technology in Woodstock. Canada's Outdoor Farm Show has opened up today, for the 19th time. This year's show features some 275 vendors, some of the companies, showing off new developments in farming technology for the first time. Woodstock Mayor Pat Sobeski says it changes the perception that Woodstock is an automotive city. "As much as we're seeing innovation in the automotive industry, one of the things here is the innovation in machinery and equipment. These aren't farmers, they're professional farmers. Just look at the looks on the old farmers as they're drooling. They wish they had these machines years ago." In kicking off the show, 4H Canada has also unveiled a new fundraising campaign called "100 for 100". Next year will mark 4H's 100th anniversary, and they've embarked on a 100-thousand dollar fundraising campaign to help fund programs for the next 100-years. 4H member, Kirsten Bevandick from BC is at the show, and says 4-H has helped her learn and grow. "I've been able to travel all across the country with 4-H. There's a lot of great skills that I've learned and I've actually applied after going to University and going out into the work world, skills that I've learned through 4-H." You'll see 4-H reps at the show in bright yellow shirts looking for donations to the campaign. They've already raised $20,500, thanks to a $10,000 donation by Farm Credit Canada. The show continues Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30AM-5PM.
