The 86th annual Embro Highland Games will take place on July 1st, with gates opening at 8:00 a.m.
EMBRO - Ontario's oldest highland games are returning for the 86th annual Embro Highland Games.
On July 1st, you can witness great feats of strength such as the Caber Toss and Hammer Toss; feats of grace in the Highland Dance competition; and musical excellence in the Pipers and Pipeband contests.
Alan Normand with the Highland Games provides a preview for the July 1st event. "The general four pillars of the games that we talk about and that would be the highland dancing throughout the day, pipe bands and mass pipe bands, the tug of war competition, and the heavy events."
Normand details how this is a great place to bring the whole family. "They've also expanded the we are calling it the wee highlanders play area, which is on the main field, that's for all the kids, and there'll be a variety of different things."
Tickets cost $27.50 in advance or $30 the day of. The gates open at 8:00 a.m. and everything should wrap up by 5:00 p.m.
