Chef Philippe Coeurdassier is the first person to be recognized as a Master Chef in Oxford County.
INGERSOLL - Oxford County now has its very own Master Chef.
Chef Philippe Coeurdassier has been officially recognized with the honour. Meredith Maywood, Tourism Specialist for Oxford County, says this is a first for our community.
"We are incredibly proud of Chef Philippe and his contribution to our culinary scene. This is a momentous occasion for Philippe, The Elm Hurst Inn and Spa, and Oxford County. We look forward to seeing the continued impact of Philippe’s talent and dedication."
Coeurdassier was born in France and he worked he worked in Michelin-starred restaurants with the legendary Chef Guy Savoy during his time there.
He has been leading the culinary team at the Elm Hurst Inn for almost two years now.
"I have a great team, and the Elm Hurst Inn already feels like home."
Being recognized as a Maître Cuisiniers de France is one of the highest honors in French gastronomy, and his next goal is to earn a place in the Michelin Guide.
"It would be a proud moment for everyone here."
