BRANT COUNTY - Brant County is looking for small donations for the new Cainsville Community Centre.
Mayor David Bailey says most of the funding has already been secured and now they are looking for small $20 to $2,000 donations to add more names to the donation wall.
"We're not going to do the donation wall in order of how much people gave. I think all names are important, all names show commitment, concern, and love for the area."
The building is set to cost over $5 million, with $1.5 million coming from donations. So far over $1.3 million has already been raised.
Bailey says the project became necessary as the community grew and key aspects of the old building had to be updated, like the kitchen, parking lot, and lack of accessibility.
"The growth was there, the need was there, and some of these older buildings that we have in the county, they just time out."
The new building was designed with input from the public on things like kitchen size and bathroom count. One new feature of the hall is that one wall can open up to the patio to increase the size for weddings and parties.
Construction has been underway for almost a year and is expected to be finished before Spring of next year.
