County Council is working on a new plan to tackle homelessness and housing in Oxford.
OXFORD COUNTY - A new plan to tackle homelessness in Oxford County is in the works.
County council has directed staff to put together a new housing plan for the next 10 years.
Warden Marcus Ryan says the report will probably come back in the fall but the county will continue to address the issue in the meantime.
"While that plan is being developed, we're not sitting still. We're implementing housing action at the same time, so we also yesterday kicked off another housing project, 1.
2 million from the county, 480, 000 from the province, and 635, 000 from the federal government to build a 43 unit, market rate, rental Building including 23 affordable units."
There is no set date for these new apartments at this time.
