Over $12,000 was raised this year for cancer research at the Cool Running's Event.
The Canadian Cancer Society is celebrating another successful Cool Running's event.
Despite dreary weather, people came out with smiles to support the Oxford Canadian Cancer Society according to Manager Janice Cunningham. "We had about 159 people. It was an amazing event. It was so much fun. It was great to have such great support here in Oxford County."
It was also a great year for fundraising. "We raised over $12 000, which is a big increase from last year and we're very excited about the event and looking forward to next year," says Cunningham. "The funds support the mission of the Canadian Cancer Society to eradicate cancer and support those living with the disease and their families."
But the Society doesn't have much time to rest."Well, we'll start now to get ready for our spring time with our door to door canvassing and our daffodil pins. And of course our Relay for Life event we'll start planning as soon as we wrap up this one," Cunningham says.
