It started with a Facebook post and now many people in the community are helping to save this cat's life.
WOODSTOCK - A viral cat post has caught the attention of several Woodstonians.
The post started when a mother and daughter came across a cat that was in desperate need of medical attention. The pair shared the story on a popular Facebook group and that's when people started following her. Sara Bureau saw the post and she picked up the cat with her boyfriend and the pair took her to the vet.
She tells Heart FM the cat has obviously been on her own outside for a number of years.
"She has frost bitten ears, she obviously needs a lot of medical help and once she is stable they are going to treat her eye, her chest and we are going to look at anything else that might be wrong with her. I have a rescue, Purrfect Companions based out of Norfolk that is willing to take her in as soon as she is ready to be released from the hospital."
Bureau has been sharing the progress of the kitty online and has started a page asking for help to pay the vet bills.
After just one day already $150 has been raised. You can read about the cat's story online and donate here.
