The public helped create it, and now Woodstock's Strategic Plan is a living, breathing document. It will help define the city's goals over the next 5-years, and beyond in the areas of community, economy and environment. The Strategic Plan sets out 17 objectives like improving the downtown, or coming up with new activities for youth. The plan also lays out 52 different actions to follow through. City CAO David Creery says they'll have opportunity to act on some of those in the next few years. "Of those 52 actions, there's 27 that have been identified as high priority/short term classification. They are things that should be considered in year 1-year 5 in the life span of the strategic plan." The first actions will start to be developed during next year's budget process. The plan has been developed over the last year, and included extensive public consultation. Click here to view the Strategic Plan.
