A full house gathered to view Oxford's upcoming talent. The new Woodstock and Area Community Health Centre opened its doors for the Oxford Youth Express Art Thursday night. Greg Borris, co-organizer of the show, says the goal behind the show was "what we wanted to do was really celebrate positive mental health and the fruits of creativity and hard work and talent. And what better way than to bring together visual artists and performing artists and just say wow, look at what we can do when we work together". The night featured a range of artists and performers from 13 to 30-years of age. Artist James Roy says promoting young talent is beneficial to the community, "it's good for the city to promote creative outlets for the youth because if they're there, when you are a youth, you don't normally have much money, you don't have any way to pull off things like this or events. It's an outlet that kids can't really do by themselves so it's good to have city support". The Oxford Youth Expression, a local website designed by youth for youth, recently moved to Metcalfe Street in the former Woodstock post office facility.
