Theatre Woodstock's youth program is debuting a new name, but promises the same fun as always.
WOODSTOCK - It's a new beginning for Theatre Woodstock's youth program.
Artistic Director Mary Holmes says the CAST program moniker is taking a final bow after 20 years alongside its founders Jennifer and Jason Paquette,
"We wanted to keep everything that was great about CAST but in deference to them they requested that the CAST name retire with them."
Holmes adds the program will now be called Stages and it will carry on the CAST legacy.
"Basically we are offering the same theatre experiences to the kids and we're going to try to carry on and continue with the high quality theatre that's always been a part of the youth company at Theatre Woodstock."
Stages has two shows lined up this May. The first show will be a creative collection called "Oh Canada" honouring Canada's 150th birthday. The second show will have actors in the senior company bring the story of the Drowsy Chaperone to life.
