Jonnathan Brownlee has joined the race for Woodstock city councillor
The Woodstock native explained why he is running, "I've always had a passion for politics... just watching some of things that have happened in previous councils, I have a sense of urgency to run as I feel there needs to be a reform in local issues and how they are mediated and communicated to the general public."
Communication is one area that Brownlee brings forth working experience from. "I work at Blackberry and through my employment I have learned how to navigate through some of the most turbulent times of the company with the largest companies in the world..." This may be the first time Brownlee is running for council, but he said he has a lot to offer, "I understand the importance of effective communication and proactive measures and I also feel I have the ability to effectively present topics in a transparent way and I'm a strong advocate for supporting local business."
One of the top priorities on his mind is creating 'infrastructure and jobs' for
"I really have a heart for Woodstock and I may be young...I have a lot of ideas and I am creative but I really want to be a voice for a younger demographic as well as the general public in Woodstock."
