The County of Brant has extended the closure of Community Centres, Libraries, Recreation Programs and Arenas until May 31st.
BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant has extended the closure of Community Centres and Arenas until May 31,2020.
The County of Brant declared a state of emergency on March 9th. Mayor David Bailey says the state of emergency is still in effect.
"The County of Brant’s emergency declaration does not expire. It can be terminated by the head of Council or the Council of the municipality at any time. It is unknown, at this time, when we will be able to declare an end to this emergency. We will continue to follow the direction from the province and the health authorities. Until then, we encourage every citizen to stay home and if you must go out, practice physical distancing."
All facility rentals that were booked up to May 31, 2020, will be issued full refunds.
The County of Brant closures include:
- Customer Service Offices
- Arenas
- Community Centres
- Outdoor recreation amenities including playgrounds, skate parks, outdoor exercise equipment, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, river access, picnic areas, disc golf course and the Simply Grand Dog park.
- Libraries
- Recreational programs
Bailey says we will get through this pandemic together.
