The event has already reached it's $130,000 fundraising goal, not including the furnace auction.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was the largest Big Night Out Charity Ball to date for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County.
Fund Development Coordinator Nicole Killaire says lots of people packed the Oxford auditorium for the Halloween Bash Saturday night.
"We saw 535 guests with our guest lists and then we had volunteers and staff on top of that!"
The event has already reached it's $130,000 goal and that's not including the online auction for the furnace from Select Heating and Cooling.
Prizes were awarded for the best individual, couple and group costumes. Someone dressed as Marie Antoinette won the best individual costume, while the Queen and Winston Churchill won best couple and the best group recreated the SNL 50 cast.
Killaire says its a big ticket item.
"It's up to $5,000 in value. They (Select Heating and Cooling) have very generously supported Big Night Out with this donation for a few years now and all of those lucky bidders out there could score this!"
The prize pack includes not only a Select Branded Goodman Furnace with up to 100,000 BTUs, but also a Select Branded Honeywell T6 Thermostat, a Honeywell 4" Air Cleaner, standard duct transitions to a new furnace, one year labour warranty, a 10 year parts warranty, and standard installation.
The winner must live within 50 kilometres of Woodstock and the new furnace must be installed by December 31st, 2026.
The bidding closes at 4:00 p.m. today and you can find the auction online here.
All of the money raised will go towards youth mentorship programs in our community.
Nicole Killaire called the Heart FM studio on Tuesday October 21st to talk to Dan and Marcie about the Big Night Out and the online auction. You can listen to the full interview below:
