OXFORD COUNTY - A new in-school program for boys on how to live a healthy lifestyle is being introduced by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and area.
The program, called Game On is a seven week program for boys in grades seven and eight.
Game On will launch for the new school year, and will consist of volunteers participating in group discussion and activities with boys about how to live, eat, and exercise in healthy ways.
Resource Development Coordinator for BBBS of Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and area, Nicole Killaire tells Heart FM about the variety of activities being offered through Game On.
"There's playing games, you know maybe some cooking, and talking about the healthy benefits of mind as well as exercise and food."
Game On is similar to the Go Girl's program for girls that was previously launched by BBBS.
Killaire says BBBS is looking for more male volunteers for Game On and other activities.
"We're really looking for a lot of male volunteers right now for Big Brother, for Game On, as well as for in-school mentoring and group mentoring."
Killaire says those looking to volunteer can find all the information on their website, sharethefun.org.
