Oxford Domestic Assault Review Team want residents art that relates to the theme 'envisioning a world free of gender based violence.'
OXFORD COUNTY - Envisioning a World Free of Gender Based Violence.
That this is the theme for Oxford Domestic Assault Review Team and Zonta Woodstock's Making Art for Change event. The two groups are looking for pieces of art that depict what the world might look like if it were free of violence.
Linda Armstrong of Oxford DART says they are looking for any type and any medium of art. "Preferably something that be hung or displayed. And we're going to have two different events. So on Monday November 3rd will be our opening at the Woodstock Public Library, it's a one evening only, it will be for the community and the artist. On Tuesday November 4th, we then move to the Tillsonburg Public Library where the art will be on display for a month."
Armstrong says the pieces should be no larger than 2'x3'.
Submissions will be accepted until 3:00 pm on Monday, October 27th. "The pieces can be delivered to the Children's Aid Society at 712 Peel Street here in Woodstock, they're collecting the items for us. You'll have to fill out a form just giving us permission to show your work, a release form more or less but the artwork remains yours."
