Organizers of Canada's Outdoor Farm Show calling it another banner year
WOODSTOCK - The 2014 edition of Canada's Outdoor Farm show is in the books and is being hailed a success by organizers.
While the final attendance numbers are still being tallied, organizers are very pleased.
Farm Show Team Lead Stefanie Nagelschmitz says feedback from exhibitors and farmers has been positive.
"Minus a little bit of dirt here and there from the mud, everyone seemed to be really happy and Thursday actually, the crowds that were here, our exhibitors kept commenting how they were really happy and really energetic. Our VIP Dairy brunch that we had on Thursday morning drew 600 people so we're really happy and the reception and feedback has been positive."
Nagelschmitz says it was the first year for the show that both the provincial and federal Ministers of Agriculture made an appearance in the same year.
"We had Minister Leal from the Province of Ontario here to open the show with the President of the University of Guelph and our President Doug Wagner and then the next day having Gerry Ritz as the Minister for Canada was a big highlight and a big highlight for me personally. Those would probably be our big highlights in addition to our demos."
Nagelschmitz says planning has already started for next year's show.
"The high-speed planting went over really, really well as well as the corn stalk bailing demonstrations so I think we may have those returning in one form or another for 2015 and possibly in a bigger way."
