Another AED Stolen

Jack Dunn Park has been struck by two AED thefts, one in May and the second within the past few weeks.

WOODSTOCK - Jack Dunn Park has been hit with a second robbery this year.

Two AEDs have been stolen, the first in May and the second within the past few weeks.

This has Woodstock Police Services concerned because the defibrillators are meant to be there to potentially save lives.

Police chief Bill Renton says this robbery should never happen.

"This is the definition of a senseless crime. The only purpose for these devices is too save lives...period. The person or person(s) responsible for these thefts need to truly understand that people could potentially die as a result of not having this life saving equipment available to assist in a time of need."

Constable Jason Green says the issue is that people need to know that the device is there when they may need it.

"These devices are put there in place, and people believe they are there, so when they go to use them and they are not there. That's the issue."

Woodstock Police ask anyone with information on these or any future crimes to contact them, or Crime Stoppers.
