Cellphones, radios, and televisions across Ontario will receive a test alert from the Alert Ready system at 12:55 p.m. today.
ONTARIO - A test of the Alert Ready system will be taking place today.
It's Canada's National Public Alerting System and it notifies the public about emergency situations in their immediate area.
Cellphones, radios, and televisions in Ontario will broadcast a test alert at 12:55 p.m. today.
The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) requires one test of the Alert Ready system per year. It usually takes place during Emergency Preparedness Week in May and/or in November.
Emergency Preparedness Week kicked off on Sunday May 7th and it will wrap up on Saturday May 13th.
It’s time, Canada🇨🇦!
