K2K Productions is bringing you to a whole new world with their latest show.
WOODSTOCK - K2K Productions and YFC/Youth Unlimited Woodstock are going to bring audiences to a whole new world.
Disney's Aladdin JR is in its two-week run this weekend, having performed for audiences last night. 55 students through grades 6-9 have been busy learning their lines and blocking the stage leading up to the show.
Earlier this week 2,200 students from local elementary schools attended four presentations. Now, the stage is set and the show is ready for the public.
Executive Ministry Director Jennifer Belleth says she is excited for the performance.
"We have gone all out in terms of our sets. Our costumes are incredible, and every student has a part to play in the story."
Through a weekly program that includes small groups, mentoring, coaching and full-scale musical productions, K2K works to build community, character and faith in every person.
Artistic Director Brian Belleth says he is happy with the work they've done with the kids
"Aladdin JR. is a classic and memorable story for many of us. This year students have learned more about themselves through activities and discussions centred around Aladdin’s story - friendship, trust, and believing in who you are. Weekly small group coaches and mentors have done an amazing job supporting our students this year through tragedies and triumphs, as students worked on the stage and developed skills in singing, dancing and acting they were encouraged through an incredible creative team as well. This year, K2K welcomed Betty Ford, Music Director and Alyssa Reeve, Choreographer to our team. They both have a vast history with musical theatre and Alyssa works professionally in theatre. These two encouragers worked alongside K2K’s long time & incredibly gifted Director, Andrew Downing & his assistant Brayden Ellis. I am humbled by the individuals who pour their hearts into the work of K2K and the many young leaders we have on our team. The students recognize the talents, community and love they receive and have already started to achieve more than they imagined possible. We hope you’ll join us April 5th to 13th. You will be inspired."
Aladdin Jr is currently in production and the show runs tonight at 7:30 at the Calvary Church in Woodstock. They'll also perform a matinee on April 7th at 3:00pm. The show runs again on April 11th, 12th at 7:30pm, before performing a matinee on April 13th at 3:00pm.
Adult tickets are $20.00 and tickets for students 13 years and under is $15.00. The public can also purchase tickets online and at the box office at 519-537-8080. Tickets will also be available for pick up at Hallmark Shoppe and All About Health Remedys Rx.
