K2K Productions is introducing a new theatre program for high school students.
WOODSTOCK - K2K Productions and YFC/Youth Unlimited are introducing a new senior theatre program for the 2018/19 season.
The program is for teens in Grades 10 to 12.
Artistic Director Brian Belleth says the program is about exploring new things.
"The idea of providing a program for all youth through their teen years has been a desire of our team for some time now. Our community has been asking and now we are prepared to have this exciting addition with the support of our community. We are thrilled and grateful for the timing."
The students will develop new skills and perform in full scale productions all while finding their faith and character.
Longtime K2K volunteer and Director of Peter Pan Jr. , Andrew Downing shares his thoughts on the program.
"I believe K2K Productions provides our young people an amazing opportunity to build meaningful connections with adult mentors at a time in their life when other adult voices are needed to help support them and their families."
Auditions for the K2K Senior Company program will be in May 2018. Only 20 students will be selected to take part in the weekly program.
Belleth is looking forward to the programs expansion.
"We want to continue to make a difference in young people’s lives, provide opportunities for our current students and welcome others too. We're pleased that with this expansion, we can make an intentional effort with local teens and help them thrive."
