The JLC will be no more come October. On Tuesday, London City Council voted 12-3 in favour of changing the name of the decade-old building to Budweiser Gardens. The city has accepted a 6.4 million dollar, 10-year deal for the naming rights. The new deal is a 28 percent increase from the 5-million dollar, 10-year deal that expires in October. Some councillors indicated Londoners were upset that a well-respected community pioneer would be coming off the venue to be replaced by an American beer. One councillor said "Budweiser Gardens sounds like a beer tent".
