The Norwich Merchants are moving on while the Tavistock Braves are out.
The Merchants are advancing to the second round of Midwestern Jr. C playoffs after a 6-2 win over Wellesley in Game 7 Sunday afternoon. Derek Slaught scored twice in the 3rd period to seal with win.
Meantime, the Tavistock Braves lost a heartbreaker, 5-4 in overtime last night in Game 6 against New Hamburg. Brandon Yantzi scored the OT winner for the Firebirds.
Norwich moves on to play Paris in round 2, while New Hamburg will take on Ayr.
