If you travelled to Norfolk County last week, there's a decent chance you got a ticket.
NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk County OPP handed out 56 tickets during a 10 hour period for their Zero Tolerance - Zero Collisions Campaign.
All of the charges were handed out during the day last Wednesday. Most of the tickets were for speeding where 28 people were charged. One person was charged with careless driving and 9 people were ticketed for not having the proper validation stickers. Constable Ed Sanchuk says they started this campaign a few months ago after a spike in fatal collisions in the County.
"The Norfolk County OPP will continue with the Zero Tolerance – Zero Collisions campaign which will be conducted every month with the ultimate goal of saving lives and reducing collisions. Drivers putting their safety and innocent motorists at risk can expect to be charged."

Detachment Commander for the Norfolk OPP Inspector Zvonko Horvat says drivers need to slow down and put safety as a priority, every time they get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.
"During the course of the campaign we still had drivers operating their vehicle with no regard for public safety. My officers are working as hard as ever to eliminate the senseless deaths that occur on our roadways and we are asking the public to get on board. We need everyone to make a firm commitment to good driving behaviour and obeying all of the laws of the road in order to keep everyone safe."
