Nearly $99,500 worth of drugs and cash have been taken off the streets of Woodstock. The seizure happened yesterday night.
WOODSTOCK - One Woodstock woman is on the wrong side of the law.
A Woodstock Police officer was on general patrol yesterday around 11:55 p.m. (Tuesday, April 9th), when they conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street and Beards Lane.
During the stop, it was determined the passenger was wanted by police. The Uniform Patrol Officers, assisted by the Woodstock Police Service Drug Enforcement and Criminal Intelligence Unit, found the woman to be in possession of around $96,080 of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and crack cocaine, along with $3390 in Canadian currency, and two folding knives.
33-year-old Brittany Ackworth is now facing one count each of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
other than heroin, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, possession of a schedule one substance – methamphetamine, possession of a schedule one substance – cocaine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with a probation order, and failure to comply with an undertaking.
Ackworth was held in custody to attend a bail hearing.
