United Way Oxford's Community Campaign for 2019 is underway, they are also continuing with their Leadership Grant Challenge as well.
WOODSTOCK - United Way Oxford has kicked off their Community Campaign for 2019.
This year's theme is working together to make local issues unignorable.
Resource Development Manager Amanda Kreiger says the campaign has been received really well.
"We're really focusing on the needs in our community and the theme is trying to make these local issues unignorable. So drawing light to issues in our community such as homelessness and poverty, and really focusing on what we need to help move the needle on these local issues and just raising awareness about them."
United Way is also continuing with their Leadership Grant Challenge.
Donations will be matched and doubled by the Dr. Leonard Reeves Foundation, who is this year's sponsor.
Kreiger says it is a great return on investment for those leaders who want to donate.
"So they have come on board with us to match any leadership donors. If you haven't donated at the $1,200 level in the past and you come in at that level, that donation is matched 100% or if you've been donating with us for years at, say the $800 level, and you increase your gift to $1,200 this year, that whole $1,200 will be met."
She adds they're fortunate to have workplaces match the amount as well. She says if you make a donation at that leadership level, it can be matched three times over.
Proceeds from the donations made will go back to United Way to support their programs.
The campaign wraps up in December. Kreiger says they'll then make a announcement by March of next year to reveal how much money has been raised.
