Woodstock's very own James Veniott will be competing in the Childrens' Tap Division at the Dance World Cup.
WOODSTOCK - There will be some local talent at the Dance World Cup.
11-year-old James Veniott from Woodstock will travel to Prague, Czech Republic this month to take part in the event. Veniott speaks to the journey he has taken that got him to this point.
"Well, I have been dancing for 8 or 9 years. My sister got into dance, and my parents signed me up, and I have just had a really nice time."
He will be traveling with World Performers Canada, and close to 200 dancers from across Canada participating. The competition will also include dancers from 66 different countries will be competing. He says what he hopes to get out of the adventure.
"It is exciting, and I am hoping it is a great experience."
James' home dance studio is Footprints Dance Centre and he trains under Lainy Zimmer. James does many styles of dance but Tap is his favorite. He has been training with World Performers Canada for almost a year and will be competing in the Childrens' Tap Division.
