The Woodstock Rotary Festival of Music will takeover the Salvation Army Church from March 27th to April 12th.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Rotary is bringing its Festival of Music back to the Friendly City, returning as an in-person event!
Beginning on March 27th, the Salvation Army Church in Woodstock will be hosting concerts that showcase the different musical talents of young artists. Showcase concerts are set to end on April 12th.
Local music teacher and judicator Susanne Hughes says students are able to play for one of five categories.
"There's vocal, musical theater, piano, bands and orchestras and woodwinds."
Following the showcase concerts, the 2023 Stars of the Festival is scheduled for April 19. This will be a time when special recognition will be given to youth who excelled during the 3 weeks festival.
President for Woodstock Rotary Graham Hart says that the program also gives students a chance to highlight and improve their musical skills.
"It focuses basically on elementary school teachers and high school students. With everything from piano to musical theater and bands. So, it's a wide range of musical participation."
