The Woodstock Hospital security company Garda will soon be writing out tickets. City Council approved a recommendation to appoint Garda personnel as by-law officers on hospital property. The company will enforce handicapped and fire route parking, parking on private property and no smoking on the property by-laws. The hospital asked for this recommendation because municipal by-law officers can only attend a site for a short time during their shift. The highest fine that could be handed out would be 300 dollars for parking in a handicapped spot.
